Sculpting with Light
In
the minds of many, holography is associated, if not with Princess Leia or
credit cards, with a means of making a perfect 3-dimensional facsimile of
something. For a number of creative artists, however, it has represented an
opportunity to make an image of no thing in particular, but to capture
light in 3-dimensional space.

The exhibition is at Gallery 286, London, and can be seen, by appointment, between April 19 - May 10, 2012

The video shows the exhibits in reverse order, so Ken Harris's Horizon is the first wall-mounted piece.
Ahishar by Andrew Ryder
Andrew Ryder, a regular exhibitor at 286, recently sent me some images of his recent work which I thought too good not to show as soon as possible. As he works with light, incorporating coloured LEDS into his 3-dimensional constructions, it is the perfect complement to this month's theme of sculpting with light, and a number of his pieces will be showing in the red gallery from May 3 -10. For those of you who would like to attend, the Private View will be on Thursday May 3rd from 6.30 - 8.30pm.
